Actress Lee Se-hee showcased her skillful performance on the aerial hoop.
Recently, Lee Se-hee appeared on a variety show and challenged herself to learn aerial hoop. On that day, Lee Se-hee, along with comedian Lee Soo-ji and former martial artist Choo Sung-hoon, also learned to exercise. Lee Soo-ji admired the expert's various poses on the hoop, saying, "It's beautiful," and asked, "Can I do that?" The expert replied, "It's fine even if four adults hang on it."
Then, Choo Sung-hoon, who has good motor skills, easily started to ride the hoop. Lee Se-hee also displayed beautiful poses on the hoop. She followed the expert's high-level poses perfectly, earning the praise of being a "hoop genius gifted by the gods." Choo Sung-hoon commented, "The pose looks good," and added, "Your posture is beautiful like an expert."
What is aerial hoop?
Aerial hoop is an exercise method where a round hoop is connected to the ceiling, and various movements are expressed while hanging from the hoop. It allows one to enjoy circus movements, which were only considered performance art, in everyday life. Various poses are performed, such as holding onto the hoop and balancing or hooking legs over the hoop towards the ground.
Since it is an exercise inspired by the circus, there are many artistic movements and poses that emphasize the body's lines. Movements include 'Mermaid', where the body stretches across the hoop, and 'Gazelle', where one leans back against the hoop and lies down as if falling down.
Aerial hoop is an exercise that helps maintain body balance, so various parts of the body are used. When holding onto the hoop, the arm, shoulder, and back muscles develop. While maintaining movements without shaking, core muscles and abdominal muscles can be strengthened. It not only improves flexibility but also provides cardiovascular exercise benefits.
Who should be cautious?
Aerial hoop can be easily enjoyed by anyone, even those without experience. Beginners start at a low height, so there is no need to worry about falling. However, since the body may lean towards the hoop, it is better to wear long leggings and tight-fitting tops rather than short and loose clothing.
However, pregnant women, those who frequently experience dizziness, patients with bone-related diseases, and those who have undergone hip replacement surgery should consult with a doctor before doing aerial hoop. Those with high intraocular pressure or high blood pressure should discuss with the instructor to avoid inverted movements while exercising.
