Actor Yoon Eun-hye recently shared her personal approach to maintaining her slender physique, revealing that she currently weighs 45 kilograms—about 3 kilograms lighter than her usual working weight and the lowest since her debut.
During a recent episode of the ENA variety show Nidon Naesan, fellow actor Park Jun-myeon appeared as Yoon’s "avatar," tracking her spending and daily routines over 24 hours.
That morning, Yoon ordered groceries through a delivery app, sending her payment history directly to Park. Upon reviewing the shopping list—which included ice cream, konjac rice, aged kimchi, and roasted sesame seeds—Park laughed and remarked, "She’s sensitive about dieting, but she bought Chal X Ice. Do you know how fattening that is?" Park added, "She cooks for herself, monitors carbs carefully, and lives in Apgujeong, so she clearly takes good care of herself."
As soon as the delivery arrived, Yoon began organizing her groceries, stocking her freezer with roughly 20 ice creams. When actor Lee Jun asked, "I guess you don’t manage your diet at all?", Yoon replied, "I don’t." She then spread strawberry jam generously on sliced bread and quickly prepared a sandwich topped with truffle jambon, Brie cheese, and arugula.
Later, Yoon headed to a Pilates studio. With a calm, practiced composure, she executed advanced movements with ease, drawing admiration. Park, who shared that she had only attended 10 Pilates sessions over three months, struggled to follow along while visibly trembling. For dinner, Yoon ordered mala tteokbokki, explaining, "For one meal, I’m the type who has to eat what I’m craving."
Can Pilates Maintain Your Physique Without Strict Dieting?
While Yoon enjoys her favorite foods without rigid food restrictions, experts note that consistent Pilates practice contributes significantly to body management. However, Pilates alone has limitations when it comes to rapid fat loss or aggressive weight reduction, as its primary focus is on core strengthening—engaging the core, glutes, pelvis, back, and shoulders—rather than burning massive numbers of calories.
Over time, Pilates improves posture, spinal alignment, and core tone. For individuals whose posture issues or pelvic imbalance make their midsection appear more protruding than it actually is, these structural improvements create a visibly leaner silhouette. Nevertheless, body fat reduction ultimately depends on energy balance. If portions remain moderate, protein and vegetable intake is sufficient, and snacks or alcohol are kept in check, Pilates helps maintain body shape. Without dietary awareness, however, exercise alone cannot offset excessive calorie intake.
Optimizing Physique Management Through Complementary Habits
For those seeking more decisive body management, pairing Pilates with cardiovascular exercise—such as brisk walking, light running, swimming, or cycling two to four times a week—helps bridge any calorie-burn gaps. Strength exercises like squats, lunges, hip bridges, and deadlifts can also be integrated to build muscle definition in the hips and abdomen.
Ultimately, extreme dietary deprivation is unnecessary. A sustainable approach involves maintaining regular meals rich in protein and vegetables while moderately reducing refined carbohydrates, sweets, late-night snacks, and alcohol. By combining an enjoyable diet with regular Pilates and light cardio, maintaining a healthy physique becomes achievable without harsh restriction.
