Celltrion Group Chairman Seo Jung-jin will forgo his summer vacation this August to embark on an intensive overseas tour across Europe, North America, and Japan, personally evaluating second-half sales strategies and the expansion of the company’s direct distribution network.
Following the strongest first-half financial performance in Celltrion's history, Seo aims to maintain commercial momentum through hands-on leadership, reviewing regional sales execution and accelerating direct-to-pharmacy distribution networks in key global markets.
According to Celltrion on Tuesday, Seo will depart for Paris on August 10, traveling sequentially through key European markets before visiting major subsidiaries in the United States, Canada, and Japan. The trip serves as a global sales inspection designed to streamline execution toward the company's second-half revenue targets. During the tour, Seo plans to review regional market conditions, product-by-product performance, tender and supply schedules, and expansion plans for new product launches, while facilitating swift, on-the-ground decision-making.
Strengthening Overseas Direct Sales Foundations
Since announcing its transition to an overseas direct sales model in 2019, Celltrion has systematically established local-subsidiary-led sales networks across global markets. The company has built tailored commercial platforms adapted to each country's healthcare environment by establishing direct communication channels with medical professionals, hospitals, pharmacies, insurers, and public procurement agencies.
Celltrion highlighted that this hands-on executive oversight bridges local market intelligence directly with executive decision-making. By rapidly adapting sales strategies to local market shifts and competitive dynamics, the company aims to enhance its global direct sales competitiveness and accelerate business execution across regions.
Sustaining Momentum After Record First-Half Earnings
The global push follows a landmark financial performance. Celltrion posted record first-half revenue of 2.5387 trillion won and an operating profit of 773.7 billion won—representing year-on-year increases of 40.8% and 97.4%, respectively. High-margin key offerings drove the surge; second-quarter sales of new products, including Remsima SC, jumped 76% year-on-year, accounting for approximately 65% of total biopharmaceutical sales.
During his August tour, Seo will review regional sales strategies for follow-on product lines, market share expansion plans, and launch schedules to sustain growth across the entire portfolio.
In the second half, Celltrion expects sales to be further bolstered by large-scale public tenders in major European nations and year-end inventory accumulation by medical institutions. A Celltrion official noted that Chairman Seo’s monthlong tour underscores the company's commitment to sustaining solid growth, concentrating companywide capabilities to expand direct sales channels and support regional teams throughout the summer.
