Actress Kim Tae-ri, celebrated for her role in the film The Handmaiden and her seemingly ageless, blemish-free complexion, recently shared the simple nutritional secret behind her youthful appearance.

During a recent broadcast, when asked about her morning habits, Kim revealed a consistent breakfast menu: boiled eggs, apples, and peanut butter. This combination provides a powerful synergy of protein, healthy fats, and antioxidants that support both skin health and metabolic function.

Eggs: The Perfect Morning Protein

Eggs are a complete protein source, containing essential amino acids that the body cannot produce on its own. With approximately 6–7g of protein per egg, consuming two in the morning provides a significant portion of the daily recommended intake.

Research presented at the 2024 American College of Cardiology (ACC) Annual Session found that regular egg consumption is linked to decreased insulin resistance and improved heart health markers. For busy professionals, eggs are an ideal "grab-and-go" option if boiled the night before. To enhance their nutritional value, pair them with olive oil or perilla oil for healthy fats, and fresh vegetables to add the Vitamin C and fiber that eggs lack.

Apples: The "Golden" Fruit for Anti-Aging

The old adage that "an apple a morning is golden" holds scientific weight. When eaten on an empty stomach, the abundant dietary fiber in apples stimulates bowel movements and detoxifies the body. This fiber also provides lasting satiety; a study from Pennsylvania State University showed that eating apples can reduce overall daily calorie intake by about 15%.

Beyond weight management, apples are rich in quercetin, a potent antioxidant that actively prevents skin aging. Furthermore, a joint U.S.-U.K. analysis of over 150 clinical trials confirmed that the flavan-3-ols in apples help prevent strokes and protect cardiovascular health.

Peanut Butter: The Anti-Aging Fat

Pairing apples with peanut butter completes the meal with unsaturated fatty acids, Vitamin E, and magnesium. Just one tablespoon (15g) provides roughly 5.8g of heart-healthy fats that improve cholesterol levels and offer anti-aging benefits.

However, moderation is key, as one tablespoon contains approximately 98kcal. When shopping, it is crucial to select natural peanut butter products without added sugars, salts, or hydrogenated oils to ensure you are getting the full health benefits.
