YouTuber and broadcaster Lalal revealed her recent diet progress. She stated that she decided to go on a diet after her weight increased to 73kg, leading to pregnancy rumors.
Recently, Lalal posted on her social media, saying "Day 5 of sobriety" along with a photo. The photo shows Lalal exercising on a treadmill. She added, "Lost 1kg," announcing a smooth start to her diet.
Quitting alcohol removes metabolic hindrances, leading to rapid weight loss
As Lalal has shown, quitting alcohol can actually have a positive impact on dieting. Alcohol not only has high calories but also delays the metabolism of fats and carbohydrates in the body. Therefore, by quitting alcohol, these metabolic hindrances are removed, and weight loss can occur relatively quickly.
In fact, Lalal revealed that she lost 1kg in just 5 days of sobriety. When one quits drinking, unnecessary water that has built up in the body is released, and inflammation or swelling in the gastrointestinal tract can subside, making it feel like weight is dropping quickly. Alcohol often accompanies the intake of salty snacks, which can disrupt the body's fluid balance and lead to swelling.
Treadmills allow for indoor running and easy adjustment of exercise intensity
Along with quitting alcohol, Lalal also incorporated treadmill workouts. Using a treadmill allows for running regardless of external conditions such as rain, snow, fine dust, heat waves, and cold snaps, while maintaining a consistent speed.
In particular, most treadmill belts are designed to absorb ground impact, resulting in less stress on the knees and ankles compared to running on asphalt or concrete. This makes it safer for those who are heavier or beginners in running compared to outdoor running.
Another advantage is the ease of adjusting speed and incline. By slightly increasing the incline on the treadmill, the use of the glutes and hamstrings increases, enhancing exercise efficiency. However, if the incline becomes excessive, it can place concentrated stress on the calves and Achilles tendon, increasing the risk of ankle and knee injuries, so caution is advised.
Therefore, to prevent injuries, the incline should be used minimally, and the speed and duration should match one's fitness level and goals. While on the treadmill, keep your gaze forward, maintain an upright posture, and swing your arms naturally while running. At the end, do not stop suddenly; gradually reduce the speed and perform cool-down exercises for about 3-5 minutes to prevent dizziness and muscle tightness.
