World-renowned fashion designer Vera Wang (76) has captured the public’s attention after posting a photo taken with Korean singer Psy (49). On the 21st, Wang shared the image on her social media, captioned "A true icon and a skating fan," while attending the 2026 Milan-Cortina d'Ampezzo Winter Olympics.
The two were spotted watching a figure skating competition at the Ice Skating Arena in Milan, Italy. Wang’s presence at the rink is a nod to her past; she was a promising figure skater who competed in the junior pairs category at the 1968 U.S. Figure Skating Championships before pivoting to a career in fashion. Born and raised in New York, the Chinese-American designer served as an editor for Vogue before launching her eponymous brand at age 40. She is particularly celebrated by celebrities for her elegant, flowing dress designs.
Beyond her career, Wang is famous for her rigorous self-care. Even in her mid-70s, she maintains a youthful visage and a lean, toned physique that appears decades younger. She attributes her vitality to "sufficient sleep, avoiding direct sunlight, a consistent routine, and an occasional shot of vodka."

The Foundation of Recovery: Sufficient Sleep
Whenever asked about her skincare, Wang emphasizes that sleep is non-negotiable. She considers getting 7 to 8 hours of rest a night as her most vital secret, stating, "Sleep is essential for recovery and relaxation."
Deep sleep facilitates the secretion of growth hormones, skin regeneration, and collagen synthesis while reducing systemic inflammation. This process minimizes puffiness, fine lines, and dullness. Consistent rest also keeps cortisol—the stress hormone—at bay, lowering the risk of abdominal fat and skin breakouts. To ensure high-quality sleep, Wang maintains a strict schedule, avoids smartphones and caffeine an hour before bed, and keeps her bedroom at an optimal temperature.
Defending the Barrier: Avoiding Sunlight
Alongside sleep, Wang prioritizes protection from UV rays, the primary cause of photoaging. Cumulative sun damage leads to blemishes, wrinkles, and a loss of elasticity, particularly on the thin skin of the face, hands, and neck.
Wang applies a moisturizing sunscreen with SPF 30–50 daily, even on cloudy days or when indoors, and reapplies every few hours. In her photo with Psy, she is seen with her signature sunglasses, which she uses along with hats to block peak sunlight between 11 AM and 3 PM. To further protect her skin barrier, especially given her history of allergies, she uses low-irritation baby oil on damp skin after bathing to lock in moisture and reduce sensitivity.

The Power of Purpose: Consistent Work and Moderate Exercise
Wang believes that "working continuously" keeps both the mind and body young. In numerous interviews, she has noted that staying connected with people and pursuing new challenges provides a sense of purpose that translates into a vibrant appearance. This mental stimulation protects brain health and is reflected in one’s posture and expressions.
Physically, Wang avoids extreme cardio, opting instead for yoga, light weights, cycling, golf, and stretching. This balanced approach is the secret to her defined features and lithe muscles. Her diet follows a similar philosophy of moderation: she pairs proteins, vegetables, and whole grains with occasional favorites like pizza or burgers. By allowing herself a glass of vodka and diet cola to relieve stress rather than imposing total restriction, she avoids the cycle of binge eating and yo-yo dieting.
