Comedian Hong Yoon-hwa (37) has successfully lost 40kg.
Recently aired on SBS 'Same Bed, Different Dreams 2', Hong Yoon-hwa was seen running with her husband Kim Min-ki and sitting on a bench chatting. Hong Yoon-hwa said, "I have definitely become healthier," and added, "(Now that I have lost weight) I wear size XL clothes." She continued, "When I make a fist, the bones stick out on the back of my hand," proudly talking about the changes in her body after losing weight. When Kim Min-ki commented, "Your jawline has really come out," Hong Yoon-hwa pushed her chin forward. Compared to her jawline from 7 weeks ago, it looked much sharper.
Meanwhile, Hong Yoon-hwa showed her husband running outdoors on her YouTube channel on December 15 last year, saying it was the first time she was sweating in 2025.

Choosing to 'Eat Healthily' Rather Than 'Not Eat'
Hong Yoon-hwa appeared on Same Bed, Different Dreams 2 last December and said, "When I excessively diet and exercise, I develop a compensatory mentality," and added, "I chose a diet method that involves changing what I eat." She continued, "I eat everything I want and eat a lot to avoid stress."
Hong Yoon-hwa revealed that instead of avoiding food, she creates her own diet menu. The diet menu she created included bean powder spicy noodles, diet tofu waffles, and carrot soup.
First, she made a diet-specific gochujang (Korean chili paste) by mixing red pepper powder, bean powder, soy sauce, and allulose, then boiled soy milk noodles and mixed them with a large amount of sliced cucumber. Next, she mashed tofu to make waffles and grated carrots to boil for soup.
Hong Yoon-hwa said, "There are almost no carbohydrates in my diet. Eating like this helps me gain less weight," and added, "I can lose weight very deliciously."
The diet gochujang that Hong Yoon-hwa introduced uses allulose, which has a lower sugar content than traditional gochujang. By adding soy milk noodles and cucumber, it significantly reduces carbohydrate burden and increases satiety relative to meal volume.
The tofu waffles contain tofu, eggs, and almond flour instead of flour. The batter is made up of healthy proteins, fats, and plant fibers, allowing for guilt-free eating even while dieting. Making waffles with this batter results in less blood sugar fluctuation and longer-lasting satiety.
Finally, Hong Yoon-hwa made carrot soup by boiling carrots with milk, allulose, and salt, then blending it and heating it in a pot. The main ingredient, carrots, are low in calories and high in fiber, which helps maintain satiety for a long time. Especially, the beta-carotene that gives carrots their orange color is converted into vitamin A in the body, helping to regulate fat metabolism and immune function.
Running Burns Body Fat Well... If It's Difficult, Try Slow Jogging
The exercise Hong Yoon-hwa tried, running, is effective for weight loss. Sustaining it for more than 20 minutes at a moderate intensity promotes energy expenditure and burns body fat, greatly aiding in weight loss. The calorie consumption per hour for a 70kg adult reaches 700kcal.
If starting with serious running feels burdensome, beginning with slow jogging is also an option. Slow jogging is a low-intensity aerobic exercise that falls between walking and running. It has been proven that consistent practice can yield various health and weight loss benefits, including improved cardiovascular health, reduced body fat, and mental stability. It burns more than twice the calories compared to walking and can be safely performed by beginners or those who are overweight. Therefore, it is considered the best aerobic exercise that can be safely practiced not only by beginners but also by the elderly or those with knee or back concerns.
However, both running and slow jogging should always begin with stretching to prevent joint and muscle injuries. It is also advisable to prepare cushioned running shoes and comfortable clothing. Exercising in natural settings like parks, walking paths, or forest trails can greatly help with mental and physical stability.
