Singer and actress Nam Gyu-ri (41) revealed the secret to her smooth skin.

Recently, Nam Gyu-ri appeared as a guest on KBS cool FM 'Lee Eun-ji's Music Plaza'. When DJ Lee Eun-ji asked about her skin secrets, Nam Gyu-ri mentioned three foods. Nam Gyu-ri replied, "I always eat an apple, almond butter, and two boiled eggs every morning."

She said, "My skin is very honest; if I eat something bad, my tone changes or I get breakouts," and added, "On the other hand, when I find foods that suit my body, they seem to have a positive effect." Let's find out about the three foods that Nam Gyu-ri eats.

Apple= Apples are rich in various components such as flavonoids, pectin, and vitamin C. In particular, the polyphenols in apples help create white and clear skin. Polyphenols are substances found abundantly in plants that reduce inflammation in the body and slow down aging. They inhibit oxidation in the body, providing effects such as anti-aging, skin whitening, and anti-cancer benefits. They also help lower blood cholesterol levels.

Additionally, apples are effective for dieting and alleviating constipation symptoms. Eating an apple before meals increases satiety, leading to reduced food intake. A research team from Pennsylvania State University observed the satiety, appetite, and weight changes of 58 participants over five weeks, comparing groups that chewed an apple before meals, consumed apple sauce, and drank apple juice. As a result, the group that chewed apples saw a reduction in calorie intake by about 15%.

Almond Butter= The main ingredient of almond butter, almonds, are rich in vitamin E. Vitamin E helps maintain cell membranes, slows down aging, improves wrinkles, and maintains elasticity.

While it contains 23g of unsaturated fats that reduce inflammation and protect blood vessels, saturated fats are only about 1-2g. Pairing almond butter with apples and other nut butters adds protein and healthy fats, enhancing blood sugar stabilization. However, when choosing almond butter, it's best to select one without additives like salt or sugar. It's important to check the ingredient list and adjust the intake accordingly.

Boiled Eggs= Boiled eggs are perfect for breakfast. One egg contains about 6g of protein. They have almost no carbohydrates, so they do not directly affect blood sugar levels. Regular consumption of eggs is known to lower fasting blood sugar levels and improve insulin sensitivity. The protein that provides long-lasting satiety helps prevent overeating at lunch, contributing to weight management.

Consuming them for skin care, like Nam Gyu-ri, can also be beneficial. The amino acids contained in egg whites, such as proline, glycine, and lysine, synthesize collagen. Collagen is a fibrous protein found throughout our body that maintains skin elasticity and protects bones and joints. However, it's advisable to consume 1-2 eggs per day.
