Comedian Hong Hyun-hee, who successfully lost 10kg, expressed her frustration over drug use allegations.
Recently, Hong Hyun-hee uploaded a video titled ‘Angry Hyun-hee’ on her YouTube channel ‘Hong Sseun TV’.
In the video, Hong Hyun-hee's husband, Jay Seon, said, “Hong Hyun-hee is very upset,” and Hong Hyun-hee stated, “This is the result of my hard work to become healthy, and it’s the first time I’ve felt this sense of achievement,” adding, “But I was really angry when I heard that I was on Wegovy and Manjaro.”
She continued, “I didn’t lose weight to show anyone; I managed my health, but now that drug allegations have come out, I’m really upset,” emphasizing, “I didn’t lose weight with that; I did it with my own routine.”
She mentioned, “My eating habits have completely changed. It’s easy to say, but the process was really hard and had many ups and downs,” revealing that she managed her blood sugar with the help of Pilates, a personal trainer, and friends who are doctors.
Regarding her dietary changes, she said, “I ate what I wanted between 10 AM and 1 PM,” and “I recommend 16-hour intermittent fasting. During fasting, the body works on its own and becomes healthier.”
Additionally, the blood sugar management routine that Hong Hyun-hee revealed included consuming oil on an empty stomach and adjusting the order of meals. She stated, “It’s important to eat when blood sugar is low,” and “Consuming olive oil, perilla oil, or avocado oil on an empty stomach creates a feeling of fullness, which helps maintain fasting.”
She added, “The first food after fasting is vegetables, and I maintained a routine of drinking vinegar just before eating rice,” saying, “Even if I eat the same food, I feel less drowsy, and my intake naturally decreased.”
Maintaining fasting for over 16 hours is effective for fat burning… Foods eaten during the day have less burden on fat accumulation
Hong Hyun-hee emphasized that she succeeded in weight loss through dietary control without the help of drugs. First, her weight loss secret, maintaining a 16-hour fast, promotes fat oxidation by keeping insulin secretion low for an extended period.
The longer the fasting period, the more glycogen stored in the liver is depleted, and the proportion of body fat used as an energy source increases. Additionally, intermittent fasting often leads to a natural reduction in total daily caloric intake.
Focusing on consuming desired foods between 10 AM and 1 PM can also work favorably for dieting. This time frame allows for the food consumed to be burned through daily activity, reducing the burden of fat accumulation. Even if the same calories are consumed, the fluctuation in blood sugar and the likelihood of fat synthesis are lower than during the evening hours.
Good oils and the habit of eating vegetables before meals increase satiety
Next, consuming a moderate amount of good oils rich in unsaturated fatty acids, such as olive oil and avocado oil, on an empty stomach can increase satiety without significantly stimulating blood sugar.
This leads to a reduction in the amount of food consumed later and helps maintain a metabolic environment favorable for fat burning. However, oils are high in calories, and excessive consumption can negatively affect weight loss. Generally, about 1 teaspoon is appropriate.
Finally, the habit of consuming vegetables before meals provides dietary fiber, creating a feeling of fullness and slowing the rate of blood sugar increase. Additionally, consuming vinegar can help control appetite and lower post-meal blood sugar responses.
However, vinegar can irritate the stomach lining if consumed in concentrated form on an empty stomach, so it is advisable to dilute it with water or consume it with food. Especially for those with gastritis or gastroesophageal reflux, consuming oil or vinegar on an empty stomach can worsen symptoms, so caution is advised.
