Kormedi.com, South Korea’s premier health and medical media outlet, is officially going global. On March 3, the company launched its multilingual platform, HiKormedi.com (hi.kormedi.com), offering specialized medical and lifestyle content in nine different languages.
This launch marks the first comprehensive effort by a Korean media entity to provide health, beauty, and wellness information to a global audience in their native tongues. By supporting English, Japanese, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Chinese, Russian, Spanish, French, and Arabic, the platform now has the potential to reach a staggering 4.7 billion people worldwide.
From Hospital Directories to K-Celebrity Wellness
HiKormedi.com is designed to be a one-stop hub for all things related to Korean health. The platform's content pillars include:
Medical Trends: In-depth information on Korean hospital systems and the latest surgical techniques.
Expert Consultations: Guidance provided by leading Korean specialists.
K-Beauty & Food: Detailed insights into the science of Korean skincare and the health benefits of traditional ingredients.
Star Health Tips: Fitness and lifestyle routines from globally recognized Korean celebrities.
To ensure regional relevance, Kormedi.com has established local communication channels with supporters residing in the U.S., Russia, China, and Vietnam. Furthermore, the site employs a rigorous translation process: articles are first processed through multiple AI systems and then meticulously proofread by native speakers. For major languages like English and Chinese, veteran journalists with over 20 years of experience oversee the final edits to ensure medical accuracy and professional trust.

Bridging the Information Gap for International Patients
The demand for such a service is backed by explosive growth in medical tourism. In 2024, the number of foreign patients visiting South Korea exceeded one million, nearly doubling the 610,000 recorded in 2023. These patients, hailing from 202 different countries, spent an estimated 1.4 trillion won on medical services.
Despite this influx, many patients have struggled to find reliable information. Marina Khe, a Kazakhstan national living in Korea, noted the difficulty: "My acquaintances back home often ask me to recommend Korean hospitals, but even I feel lost looking for comprehensive medical data. Having a dedicated channel is a huge relief."

'K-BEST Hospitals' and AI-Driven Personalization
The platform’s "K-BEST Hospital" series has already seen high engagement during its pilot phase in February. Featured articles such as "Blue Lips Saved 9,000 Lives: The Heart Surgery Mecca – Incheon Sejong Hospital" and "70,000 Joint Surgeries: The Miracle Rural Hospital – Yeosu Aeyang Hospital" garnered significant views.
Hospitals featured in this series undergo a strict verification process. Candidates are first analyzed by AI for reputation, then verified by an advisory committee of 16 top medical specialists and journalists, and finally subjected to a field investigation by the "Kormedi Real Investigation Team."
In tandem with the news service, Kormedi.com is developing AIGA, an AI-powered search and real-time chat system. This tool will allow international users to navigate data on 47 major general hospitals and over 15,000 doctors in Korea, helping them find the exact specialist suited to their symptoms.
Two Decades of Expertise Goes Global
For 20 years, Kormedi.com has operated under the principle of "saving at least one more person a day with honest knowledge." Backed by a network of 120 advisory doctors, the company has now reinforced its internal staff with specialized reporters in pharmaceuticals, food, and beauty to support the global expansion.
"The overseas interest in Korean healthcare content has reached an explosive level," said Lee Sung-joo, CEO of Kormedi.com. "This multilingual platform will serve as a vital bridge, showcasing the world-class competitiveness of Korean medical professionals and bio companies to the entire world."
