Hallym University Hangang Sacred Heart Hospital, led by Director Heo Jun, announced on October 21 that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the KOSDAQ Association, chaired by Lee Dong-hoon, on October 20 in the main building's burn conference room. The partnership establishes a system to prevent and respond to workplace burn injuries across KOSDAQ Association member companies.

The agreement aims to rapidly connect employees from KOSDAQ Association member companies, their affiliates, and partner companies with specialized medical care in the event of a burn accident, while working together on burn prevention. Director Heo Jun, Chairman Lee Dong-hoon, and other representatives from both organizations attended the signing ceremony.

Under the agreement, the hospital will support the treatment of burn patients and establish a standing communication channel with member companies—designated as the "burn-care hotline"—to ensure prompt intervention for severe burn cases. In August 2024, the hospital introduced a 24-hour burn hotline connecting users directly to its emergency department through a KakaoTalk channel.

Additionally, the two organizations will jointly conduct occupational health and safety training and campaigns focused on burn prevention and initial emergency response at industrial worksites. Hospital medical staff will provide clinical expertise for the training, while the KOSDAQ Association will promote participation opportunities among its member companies.

Strengthening Industrial Safety and Emergency Preparedness Across Workplaces

"This agreement establishes a system to quickly connect patients with specialized treatment when burn accidents occur at KOSDAQ Association member companies," said Director Heo Jun. "Going forward, we will support burn prevention education and work together to ensure patients receive timely, critical treatment if an accident occurs."

"I hope this agreement will provide practical help to member companies in preventing burn injuries and securing prompt, specialized medical support when accidents occur," said Chairman Lee Dong-hoon. "We will work closely with Hallym University Hangang Sacred Heart Hospital to protect employees' lives and health, strengthen our ability to respond to serious workplace accidents, and create a safe business environment."

Hallym University Hangang Sacred Heart Hospital is the sole university hospital among the specialized burn hospitals designated by the Ministry of Health and Welfare. Performing more than 2,700 burn surgeries annually, the institution also operates a hyperbaric oxygen treatment center capable of treating 36 patients simultaneously.
