Singer Baek Ji-young recently offered practical advice for brides-to-be considering aesthetic skin procedures ahead of their wedding day. Speaking on her YouTube channel with a producer set to marry next year—who voiced concerns about pores, facial contours, and wrinkles—Baek emphasized the necessity of selecting clinically proven treatments and carefully calculating recovery time. She cautioned that attempting unfamiliar or overly aggressive procedures right before a major event can trigger unexpected skin reactions, resulting in added stress and financial cost.
Balancing Energy Levels, Recovery Time, and Skin Sensitivity
"If you undergo an unverified procedure, you risk spending money without seeing results—and if your skin flares up, fixing it costs even more," Baek warned. She noted that because post-procedure reactions like redness, swelling, or pain vary depending on an individual's skin sensitivity, high-stakes events call for predictable, low-risk options that minimize bruising or visible marks.
Among popular treatments for pore and line care, radiofrequency (RF) therapy works by delivering thermal energy deep into dermal tissue. This heat induces the remodeling of collagen and elastic fibers, improving skin elasticity and lifting sagging areas.
The clinical efficacy of RF therapy was highlighted in a 2025 study published in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology. A research team from Beautiful Country Dermatology Clinic and Korea University Ansan Hospital tracked 32 participants for 24 weeks following monopolar radiofrequency procedures. Tissue biopsies confirmed increased density of collagen and elastic fibers, alongside visible reductions in jawline sagging and nasolabial folds, with no serious adverse reactions observed.

Consulting Specialists and Maintaining Daily Care
Despite these proven benefits, medical experts echo Baek’s caution regarding pre-wedding timing. Depending on the device, energy intensity, and application method, temporary side effects such as erythema (redness), swelling, and scabbing can occur.
Baek also stressed that cosmetic procedures should not replace foundational health habits. "Because everyone’s skin condition is unique, you must proceed after consulting a specialist," she said, adding that expecting dramatic results from clinical procedures alone without managing daily diet and exercise is unrealistic for achieving lasting skin health.
