Chung-Ang University Hospital (Hospital Director Kwon Jeong-taek) announced on the 23rd that Professor Seok Jun of the Department of Dermatology at Chung-Ang University Hospital received the ‘LEO Foundation Award for the Asia-Pacific region’ at the ‘Japanese Society for Investigative Dermatology (JSID) Annual Scientific Meeting.’
The ‘LEO Foundation Award’ is presented to young researchers who have achieved outstanding accomplishments in dermatology research or who show strong potential to contribute to the development of new treatments for skin diseases. Chung-Ang University Hospital stated, “This award reflects international recognition of Professor Seok’s continued achievements, including research elucidating the mechanisms underlying the onset of alopecia areata, as well as work in psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, and aesthetic dermatology.”
In his acceptance remarks, Professor Seok said, “I believe basic research lays the groundwork for clinical advances, and I will continue striving to improve patients’ quality of life through ongoing scientific inquiry.”
