Samsung Bioepis announced on the 29th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Atlalt Innovation Center, a Chinese biotechnology R&D and innovation platform. The agreement marks a significant step forward in the company’s global open innovation initiatives.
According to Samsung Bioepis, Atlalt is Asia’s largest biotech incubation center. It supports technological innovation and business acceleration by fostering research collaboration between startups and global corporations. Atlalt operates specialized hubs that provide shared laboratories, office space, and contract research organization (CRO) services across major bio clusters, including Shanghai, Beijing, Singapore, and Australia.
Under the terms of the agreement, Samsung Bioepis plans to identify promising biotech companies and support their entry into the Atlalt Innovation Center, while providing resources for their ongoing research activities.
This partnership represents the first time Samsung Bioepis has pursued a formal business initiative with an overseas organization specializing in open innovation. Through this collaboration, the company aims to secure early-stage, next-generation biotechnology across various therapeutic modalities.
