Korea University Anam Hospital’s International Healthcare Center hosted the "2026 Mongolia Patients’ Night" on August 13 at the Holiday Inn in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, bringing together medical staff, local patients, and healthcare officials.

The event on August 24 announced that approximately 100 people attended, including Korea University Anam Hospital Director Han Seung-beom, International Healthcare Center Director Lee Sang-hoon, and Robot Surgery Center Director Kang Sung-gu. They were joined by Mongolian patients who had received treatment at Anam Hospital, along with representatives from major local organizations, including the Korea Tourism Organization’s Mongolia office, Intermed Hospital, the Mongolian Health Development Center (CHD), and the Korea University Mongolia Alumni Association.

Mongolia is a key source market for South Korea’s medical tourism industry. According to the Ministry of Health and Welfare, Mongolia ranked fifth in foreign patient arrivals in 2023, behind Japan, China, the United States, and Thailand. Anam Hospital organized the event as part of an ongoing initiative to expand its international patient network and highlight its expertise in robot-assisted surgery and severe disease management.

The program began with welcoming remarks from Director Han Seung-beom, followed by medical lectures designed to help patients better manage their health. Director Lee Sang-hoon delivered a presentation on gynecologic cancers, and Director Kang Sung-gu gave a lecture on prostate cancer. The event also featured a session where former patients shared their recovery stories and consulted directly with attending physicians.

Additionally, hospital leadership held working-level discussions with local partner institutions. The participating organizations agreed to pursue joint promotional campaigns, establish clinician exchange programs in specialized fields such as oncology and robotic surgery, develop referral pathways for complex and critically ill patients, and build a local post-treatment follow-up care system in Mongolia.
