Celltrion is consolidating its leading market position across major Asian countries with its key autoimmune and oncology therapies.

According to first-quarter pharmaceutical market research data from IQVIA, Celltrion’s flagship autoimmune treatment Remsima (active ingredient: infliximab) ranked first in market share across four major Asian markets: Singapore (93%), Hong Kong (84%), Thailand (78%), and Malaysia (72%).

The company’s oncology portfolio also delivered strong performances in the region over the same period. Blood cancer treatment Truxima (active ingredient: rituximab) secured the top spot in market share in Singapore (93%) and Thailand (78%). Meanwhile, breast and gastric cancer treatment Herzuma (active ingredient: trastuzumab) maintained its leading position in prescriptions in Malaysia (51%) and Thailand (42%).

Direct Sales Model Drives Rapid Growth for Vegzelma

In Malaysia, metastatic colorectal and breast cancer treatment Vegzelma (active ingredient: bevacizumab) recorded particularly rapid growth. After ranking fourth among bevacizumab products in Malaysia during the fourth quarter of last year, Vegzelma climbed to the No. 1 position in the first quarter of this year with a 30% market share.

Celltrion attributed this performance to the strength of its direct sales network operated through local subsidiaries established in key Asian markets. In Asia’s tender-driven pharmaceutical markets, the company expanded contract wins by highlighting supply chain stability and delivering product volumes on schedule to build trust with local medical institutions.

To boost brand awareness and physician preference, Celltrion actively engaged in major regional medical conferences to highlight the clinical value of its products while strengthening partnerships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).

Pipeline Expansion Across Key Asian Markets

Celltrion plans to expand its regional portfolio further in the second half of this year. In Thailand, the company is preparing to launch Omliclo (active ingredient: omalizumab) for allergic conditions, as well as bone disease treatments Stoboclo and Osenvelt (active ingredient: denosumab). Additionally, autoimmune disease treatment Stekima (active ingredient: ustekinumab) is scheduled to launch in Malaysia and Singapore within the year.

"Our core product lines, including Remsima, continue to hold the top market share in major Asian countries, expanding our market presence," a Celltrion official said. "We plan to intensify our sales activities so that the momentum generated by existing therapies carries over seamlessly to our new product launches."
