Samsung Medical Center announced on the 5th that Jisung, a member of the SM Entertainment group NCT, has donated 250 million won (about 170,000 US dollars).
Jisung reportedly chose to make this significant contribution in honor of his birthday. The funds will be dedicated to advancing research in precision medicine for pancreatic cancer and other refractory diseases (difficult-to-treat conditions).
Regarding the donation, Jisung shared: "It has always pained my heart to see patients suffering from difficult illnesses. Thanks to the love I have received from my fans, I am able to give back. While this is a modest contribution, I hope it supports medical research so that more people can lead healthy, happy lives."
This is not Jisung’s first act of philanthropy. Last March, he donated 50 million won to Community Chest of Korea (specifically the Fruit of Love) to support victims of the wildfires in the Yeongnam region. He plans to continue using his platform to create a positive social impact through various charitable activities in the future.
