
A medical complex town, the largest in the country, will be established in Incheon Cheongna International City.
The Incheon city government announced that on the 29th, a groundbreaking ceremony was held for the Cheongna Medical Complex Town Seoul Asan Cheongna Hospital at the hospital site in Cheongna-dong, Seo-gu, Incheon.
Seoul Asan Cheongna Hospital, which will be built on a 97,459㎡ site located in Cheongna-dong, will have 2 basement levels and 19 above-ground floors, totaling 800 beds, and will become a specialized hospital for severe cases. Specialized treatment centers for various diseases, including a cancer center, heart center, and spine and joint center, will also be established, with a target completion date of 2029.
In addition to Seoul Asan Cheongna Hospital, a research institute from KAIST and Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) of Harvard Medical School is also planned to be located here.
Additionally, a Life Science Park will be established as a startup and educational facility, serving as a research and development (R&D) hub for the medical complex industry, along with a senior welfare facility equipped with senior healthcare services.
Park Seung-il, the president of Seoul Asan Hospital, who attended the groundbreaking ceremony, stated, "Based on world-class capabilities in treating severe diseases, we will strengthen our cooperation with local medical institutions and coexist with the local community."
