Ligakem Bioscience (Ligakem Bio) announced on the 8th that it is set to receive milestone payments related to the development progress of the antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) platform technology transfer from Ono Pharmaceutical. The specific scale of the milestone and detailed conditions are confidential according to the contract between the two companies.
This milestone is a follow-up achievement from the ADC platform technology transfer contract signed in October 2024. At that time, the two companies entered into a candidate substance discovery and joint research agreement utilizing Ligakem Bio's proprietary ADC platform, 'ConjuAll.'
Immediately after the contract was signed in March of last year, Ligakem Bio and Ono Pharmaceutical completed the first target designation, achieving the first milestone. Subsequently, the research and development of the ADC candidate substance based on that target has progressed smoothly according to the originally planned schedule, leading to the receipt of additional milestones.
This receipt demonstrates that Ligakem Bio's platform technology meets the high standards of global pharmaceutical companies, showing a stable development pace.
Park Se-jin, CEO of Ligakem Bio, emphasized, "This milestone receipt is not just a one-time revenue but a reaffirmation of the solid trust relationship with Ono Pharmaceutical and the excellent scalability of our ADC platform technology."
Meanwhile, Ligakem Bio is on the verge of achieving milestone payments for pipelines collaborating with several global partners in addition to Ono Pharmaceutical. To date, 13 technology transfers have been completed.
